A Newborn Sperm Whale Was Is Now Safe After It Was Land Bound On Shore By San Diego

A newborn sperm whale got stranded on land by San Diego and was saved Monday by the Sea World Animal Rescue group.

The infant whale was roughly 15 to eighteen feet long and weighed about 3,000 pounds.

The whale had rubbed itself on some rocks but was not hurt very bad.

The volunteers arrived at the whale approximately 9:30 PM on Sunday and around Midnight took the child whale about half a mile out to sea and set it free. The infant whale swam away by itself, which was a fantastic signal.

The volunteers was unable to identify the sex of the whale.

Kudos to Sea World for helping an animal in need. We need to view more good acts like this more frequently.
